Esan West Council Boss lauds IGR Compliance of Practicing Butchers

The Chairman, Esan West Local Government Council, Hon Patrick Agwinede has hailed the total compliance of the State Practicing Butcher Association on boosting the internally generated revenue accruals of the Council.

Agwinede who attributed the geometric increase of the revenue generated to the sterling performance of the now reformed leadership of the practicing butchers Association during the reconciliation meeting held recently in Ekpoma, said, development can only strive where peace reigns. 

 He informed that in the last months the council internally generated revenue has become the bride of the state government.

Honorable Agwinede however, traits it to the cooperation his administration has received from the practicing butchers association.

‘For years there was confusion everywhere. But immediately you assume office the first major assignment was to bring peace and unite the people. I want to let you know that because of your IGR, Esan west last month came out first in revenue generation in the state. We were able to raise revenue from 2.2 million naira to 20 million naira. We have repeated almost the same feat this month because we raised it from 2% to 406% and the Governor is very proud of Esan West and we are happy about what you are doing, “he stated

He urged the group to continue to sustain peace to usher in development through generated revenue increase as government will continue to ward-off illegal abattoir in the state.

Earlier in his opening remarks, Edo State Chairman Practicing Butchers Association, Comrade Akhere Odijie expressed total satisfaction and commitment in building a veritable team that would change the narratives of the association.

Comrade Odijie enjoined members to continue to work together as he pledged to serve within the ambit of its constitution, adding that, the meat industry is the biggest agricultural farm produce and should be carefully harnessed.

 Meanwhile, a new exco cut across the Edo central that would help pilot the affairs of the group was installed.

Comrade Friday Ogbidi emerged the Chairman Esan west practicing Butchers association, while comrade Onosatale Aigbobo installed as the Edo Central District Chairman of the Association.

In their respective acceptance speeches, the new exco leadership promised to work in harmony in ensuring more business windows is created.

The reconciliation has brought to an abrupt end suggestive of any crisis that had bedeviled the Butchers Business in Edo Central for over a period of time.
