PASTOR IZE IYAMU, FROWNS OVER MULTIPLE TAXATION, PROMISE EQUITY IF ELECTED
By Eben Enasco Kingsley, Benin City
The Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party,PDP,Pastor
Osagie Ize-Iyamu, has frowned over what he alleged as multiple
taxation of the incumbent government on its people saying his
government would patronize the tax payers to ensure equity if elected
come September 10, 2016 guber- election.
Speaking while addressing the mammoth crowed that besiege the party’s
rally at Ugoneki, Uhunmwode local government area Ize-Iyamu said that
taxation is good but that the government should not impose multiple
taxations on the people adding that the taxes should be humane.
He also lamented that it is abnormal for a government to source and
patronize businesses for things ordinarily would have gone to a local
business set in the state.
He said, “A situation where the APC government patronizes businesses
outside Edo state for services that could be provided in Edo state,
services like catering, entertainment, furniture and others is
uncalled for. The company that supplies the food, catering and
entertainment for the APC are all from outside Edo state. The company
that supplies the furniture of schools and offices in Edo state are
sourced from outside Edo state, despite the fact that Edo state has
about the best furniture in Nigeria”.
However, he called on the people of Ugoneki to consider PDP as the
only party with a clearer vision to liberate the agitations of good
living in the state.
